Oslo, Norway

>> Wednesday, 30 July 2008

Finally, I have got a bit of time to post some Oslo photos. We landed in Torp airport which is about 2 hours from Oslo by train. Took a free shuttle from the airport to the train station. The shuttle bus normally comes about 10 minutes before the train departs.

A single journey train ticket from Torp to Oslo city centre is 199 NOK (Norwegian Krone) which is about £20.

Torp train station

The weather was great when we were there, blue skies and dramatic clouds were everywhere.

This is a good thing about being far away from the city. You'll get to see more green than buildings.

Torp, Norway

A field of wheat? This place is just next to the train station. Didn't get to spend much time there as the train arrived very shortly when we got to the train station.

More photos coming up tonight.

yannee: yeahh i think that's quite nice but if i got more time I would have taken more shots. I prefer places like these than a city. haha. I am about to get on a train too :P

i honestly love your photography. it's excatly what i'm trying to do. do you touch up your photos? the quality is amazing and the colours are so vibrant. what are your tips for shooting at night? do you have IS lenses or just normal?

Vincent 24 September 2008 at 11:56

sharon(^.^): im not going there anytime soon :P

katieleigh: thank you so much again. I do minor touch up to some of the photos. Most of it are very similar to the original shots.

For shooting night shots:
1. you definitely need a sturdy tripod. Otherwise, your shots wouldn't be as sharp as it should be.

2. Its best if you use manual mode, first meter it with Aperture priority then set to manual and adjust it accordingly. Sometimes, camera might not meter accurately when it comes dark background with a few street lamps.

IS would be a good thing to have but its not compulsory. You can see a significant improvement for IS telezoom lenses and not much on wide angles lenses.

Hope that helps.
