Venice of the North

>> Wednesday, 13 August 2008

One of the most beautiful cities in Europe which is divided by canals into nine small islands. No doubt, its Amsterdam. We were there last year during spring season and it is really amazing to see the tulips farm, Keukenhof Park.

Windmill in Amsterdam

If you are in Amsterdam, never leave without visiting a windmill. Its one of famous landmarks.

However, these windmills are never in the city centre, you need to get yourself to the countryside.

Canal in Amsterdam

We took a glass-topped boat that tours around the city via the canals. Pretty much like Venice in Italy.

The houses here are very different from other European countries. Its thin and long not sure if you have noticed that.

Amsterdam was once a fishing village and it is now the largest city in Netherlands.

I just love the canals. Don't you wish you have these near your house? Or perhaps a big monsoon drain? :)

OMG... This is so lovely! I noticed there is Venice all over the corners of the Earth. There's Venice in Italy, Amsterdam, and China.

Did you read my post entitled Venice of the Orient? Here's the link. Hope you can read this. I love boating... The feeling, ambience, and the life!

eunice: haha thank you so much. That's what I do at times, printing them and send to family or friends. Could save some money instead of buying them :)

Athos: Well, it depends on what you are looking for. Some of the sceneries are definitely breathtaking.

Aileng: calm down aileng. Don't have to throw me into the canal okay! haha.
