The Nightscape of Singapore

>> Monday, 27 October 2008

Finally, I managed to spare some time off to drop by Singapore. The weather wasn't really great, so the best I could do was to shoot night shots.

Here are some of the nightscape I took around the area of Clarke Quay and Boat Quay.

Clarke Quay, Singapore

Clarke Quay is well known for its clubs and pubs and there are lots of restaurants too.

Esplanade, Singapore

Esplanade is the durian shape Theatre located next to the bay. This was taken opposite the theatre.

Boat Quay, Singapore

This was taken from outside Esplanade. Definitely one of the good spot for night shots as well.

Boat Quay, Singapore

You will see this bridge when you are walking towards Boat Quay from Clarke Quay. There are some side seeing boats which you could take from one end to the other.

Boat Quay, Singapore

This is the view of Boat Quay from the bridge in the photo above. If you guys know any other nice spot for night shot please feel free to share with me.

aileng: yeah cause that's santorini and you like that place isn't it ? :P

she3p: long exposure will sort of makes the water smoother.

eunice 29 October 2008 at 06:44

wow so jealous now! ur Singapore night shots are exactly like postcards. Don't how lian hor, but I give u full marks for all the photos here heheheh. Think you can be an ambassador for countries that you took photos from. I think ur standard is good enough for magazine and newspaper publishers!

JC 29 October 2008 at 08:32

I can only 'Waaaa...' and 'OMG' when I saw the pictures. Really really nice! I didn't managed to take any night shots in my last visit (that's almost 2 yrs ago). I can't blame much as I only have an old P&S with me at that time :-/ But.. looking forward to an opportunity to go Singapore again and explore around with a better camera. Btw.. I still think that 'durian' looks more like the shape of nangka or chempedak :p

Vincent 29 October 2008 at 13:36

ruth: indeed. but i think most big cities do have such beautiful lighting. not too bad. yeah has been quite awhile :)

aileng: no it isnt a windmill.

emily: thanks. have been using this layout for more than 1/2 a year so thought of changing it.

eunice: haha yeah my friend told me that as well. Can be a souvenir!haha never expected this when you saw me shooting? :-D

JC: haha. shocked? because its too normal? :P don't worry P&S is able to shoot nice photos too but some couldn't cope with noises during the night. haha yeah true it does look like nangka or chempedak!

I'm back! I just got back to Hawaii. Anyway, I just wonder what kind of Photoshop Elements you have?! Your pictures always end up picture-perfect!

I seldom check your profile, but now that I thought of it, I noticed you look different compared to your picture with Eunice. Haha! I know it's silly, but anyways, thought I'd just let you know!

Have a nice day :-)

Vincent 2 November 2008 at 10:19

eunice: yes will link both then. bump into more bloggers? singaporean ones? haa

waiseng: thanks dude!

bridge: back to hawaii? on holiday? i dont use element instead i use photoshop to resize and add signatures. Edit at times.

I look different? how diff?

ßrigida Ayson © Copyright 2 November 2008 at 10:38

Cheewei! Here's a man quite interested on how different he looks like.

Well bro, you've got to remove your sunglasses first, ha-ha! From a blogger's point of view, I think you are rather simple and wholesome on your photograph with Eunice!

I browsed through your posts and never did I see pictures of yours except on your profile (with your eyes covered with dark spectacles).

I wonder how Eunice recognized you. Man, she's really good!

Anyway, I live in Hawaii. I just went to PI to celebrate my 24th birthday!

thanks QuaChee! I didn't know bout that part. Will visit again for sure:D thanks for ur tips!!

Anonymous 15 November 2008 at 01:51

I would say the view from Boat Quay is one of the best and followed by where the Merlion is (not the best place if the wind isn't very kind on that day though).

I felt the view from Boat Quay will be the most stunning if you got on the bridge from Clarke Quay and turn towards Raffles Place. It just looked gorgeous, that particular moment.
